Section 3 Program
The Section 3 Policy is mandated by the United States Congress. Section 3 of the Housing Act of 1968, as amended (12 U.S.C. 1701 u) (Section 3) requires the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority (SNRHA) to provide employment, training and contracting opportunities to low income and low skilled persons, particularly to individuals who are recipients of government housing. The SNRHA Section 3 Program maintains a job bank list of SNRHA residents interested in various employment opportunities. SNRHA residents can apply to be placed on the Section 3 job bank list by picking up an application from their Asset or Property Manager’s office.
The Section 3 Program also maintains a Vocational Training Fund which is utilized to provide SNRHA residents with access to trainings of their choice.
SNRHA residents must successfully complete the SNRHA Career Training Program to enroll in the Section 3 Program.
