COVID-19

Govenor Steve Sisolak: Nevada Govenor Sisolak Declares State of Emergency in Response to COVID-19.

COVID-19 Update 3/29/2020: Letter From Our Executive Director.

Dear Southern Nevada,

The Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority (SNRHA) has transitioned into a partial shutdown of both our programmatic and administrative operations. This is in response to the COVID-19 epidemic based on guidance from the CDC for which we believe the physical presence of employees on the job would jeopardize the health of others, specifically our senior citizens.

Therefore, effective Wednesday, March 18, 2020, the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority will be CLOSED until Monday, April 13, 2020. Residents can contact our Call Center for health and safety, emergency and urgent work orders at 702-477-3100.

At this time all HQS Inspections for the Section 8 program have been suspended until further notice to protect HCV participants, property owners/agents, and SNRHA employees. We will restart HQS inspections as soon as possible under this partial shutdown when it has been determined that operations can be implemented safely for all parties.

At this time, the agency has delayed the collection of rents due on April 1 to April 18 for all of our Public and Affordable Housing residents. This delay in rent payments doesn't apply to HCV participants. If necessary, all HCV participants will need to work out a payment plan with each of their perspective property owners/agents.

At this time HQS Inspections for the Section 8 program have been suspended until further notice to protect HCV participants, property owners/agents, and SNRHA employees. We will restart HQS inspections as soon as possible under this partial shutdown when operations can be implemented safely for our region.

We look forward to returning to FULL OPERATIONS on Monday, April 13, to serve those in need of affordable housing. This is a challenging time for the entire nation, but most especially here in the Las Vegas Metropolitan area. The housing, workforce, and economic impact of this pandemic on our region will be tremendous. However, we will get through this together by staying VEGAS STRONG.

Be well, and safe!!

Sincerely,
Chad Williams
